Maine hunting regulators will meet this week to discuss the number of the number moose hunting permits the state will issue in one of the wildlife management districts near Greenville.

The district is slated for 100 bull and 50 antlerless moose permits.

Regulators say that number could change based on the feedback they receive at the hearing Friday night at Greenville Consolidated School.

According to officials at the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, the agency may issue just 2,815 moose permits this year. That would be the fewest moose permits issued in 12 years.

Friday night's hearing starts at 6:00.
