The Wednesday morning commute in Belfast was complicated by a moose who took a walk through traffic.

Sergeant Gibbs shared this picture on the Belfast Police Department's Facebook page, advising that motorists might run into 'heavy moose traffic' on the Veterans Memorial Bridge. The large animal was spotted wandering through traffic on the span that crosses the Passagassawakeag River.

Drivers would be wise to keep their eyes open for all kinds of wildlife right now, as the warmer weather has animals looking for food. In Wells, a driver hit a 250 pound black bear as it was crossing the road. The driver survived, but the bear didn't. While it may not help with moose, there are a few things you can do that will hopefully prevent hungry bears from visiting your yard.
