The remains of a Maine woman, who's been missing since mid-March, have been found in Florida and now police are investigating the cause of her death.

Judith Therianos traveled to Florida with a friend in February to visit another friend being treated for cancer. When her travel companion returned home, Therianos stayed behind to extend her visit. It was during this time that Therianos disappeared and family members alerted police. One of the last confirmed sightings of the 52-year-old was when she stopped into a friend's home in mid-March to pick up some of her belongings. Therianos was said to have had a black eye and was in the company of an older man she referred to as Charlie.

Thursday night, officials were called to a wooded area in Port Richey, Florida, to a report of human remains. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office has confirmed they are the remains of Judith Therianos. A cause of death has not been determined.
