Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton took some time away from their busy careers to have a zoo date. The animal-loving couple hit the San Diego Zoo on Dec. 7, where they played with llamas and turtles, and fed giraffes.

Lambert, looking extra cute and casual in her trucker hat and flannel shirt, shared a bunch of pictures from the zoo date while she and her hubby mingled with the wildlife. Thanks to modern technology –well, Twitter- one of country music's most beloved couples invited us to tag along on their date day. You can't call it a "date night" since it was broad daylight while they hobknobbed with exotic creatures.

The 'Fastest Girl in Town' tweeted a pic of a llama kissing the top of her head, simply posting "Llama kisses!" as the caption. We wonder if Shelton got jealous about that smooch. Even a mammal can recognize the beauty of his wife.

Lambert also fed giraffes while at the zoo, and she and Shelton petted a huge turtle. We bet Lambert, known to for her support of shelter adoptions, wanted to take one of the giant creatures home with her.

She had to stand on her tip toes to feed the long-necked giraffes, tweeting:

Tall and handsome!

Lambert also tweeted her excitement about the day, posting:

We had a blast at the San Diego zoo!!!! Thanks so much. #zoodate.

Lambert and Shelton certainly make time in their marriage to enjoy recreational activities. Besides visiting the zoo, they recently went hunting together, scoring Thanksgiving dinner in the process.
