Nurses at Millinocket Regional Hospital have voted to stage a one-day strike if their concerns about patient safety and low staffing levels are not addressed.

WABI was told no date has been set for the strike, and nurses at the hospital hope to avoid one.

Nurses have been negotiating a contract with the hospital since March.

Nurses say there aren't enough nurses on duty to give patients the care they need.

Hospital officials said they have not been notified of the strike, and they had no comment on the matter.
