Eviction papers served by York County Sheriffs lead to an investigation and eventually the arrest of a Newfield resident.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested Caitlin Bigelow, 26, of Waterboro on Tuesday charging her with Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

Deputies attempted to serve Bigelow eviction papers on June 2nd when she was renting a mobile home on Stone Road in Newfield. Bigelow was not at home at the time, and deputies observed several items commonly used in the manufacturing of meth outside her residence. These items included gas generators made from soda bottles with rubber tubing affixed to the bottle openings, numerous empty Pseudoephedrine blister packs and granular cold packs along with other items indicative of methamphetamine manufacturing.

Recognizing the dangerous combination of chemicals and containers, deputies notified MDEA. Agents responded and set up a safety perimeter. On September 23, agents arrested Bigelow at her new home in North Waterboro without incident. She was transported to the York County Jail where bail was set at $5000.
