My dad passed away a couple of years ago a the tender age of 95, and is now buried in the veteran's memorial cemetery in Caribou, Maine. He served his country in the Navy as a Sea Bee, and managed to survive the war--many didn't. But dad had never forgotten his service time, nor those that he served with. He was a very proud man, and I miss him so.

On this Memorial Day 2013, it's important to remember that the joy and fun we've had this past weekend, came at a hefty price. Thousands of men and women that have served in the many branches of our military, also fought and died in the many wars through the decades.

Let's remember the fallen, and treasure the freedoms that we have today. Take some time and attend a parade or memorial service, and take a moment to thank a veteran for their service and sacrifice, and certainly thank those that are serving today.

Let's remember...
