Medical Examiner Says Dogs Not Involved in Garland Death

The State Medical Examiner’s office says a Dover-Foxcroft man found dead in a house in Garland yesterday died from natural causes. Speculation of an animal attack flourished yesterday when two dogs, found inside the house, were quarantined.

Just after 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, State Troopers responded to a call of a dead body found at 142 Campbell Road in Garland. Family members had found the body of Daniel R. Neal, 62 in the house that belongs to Neal's daughter. He had stayed with her the night before.

During the investigation, two adult dogs that had been in the house were quarantined, prompting questions from the media about whether they were involved in the death. Police says a litter of seven puppies were also at the home.

Today, the medical examiner ruled that the death was due to natural causes.
