Mapleton Crash Sends Woman To Hospital

An Ashland woman was taken to the hospital after a wreck on State Road in Mapleton Wednesday afternoon, according to Maine State Police.

Sgt. Chad Fuller said the accident occurred when a 17-year-old female driver from Presque Isle, who had stopped at the intersection of Moose Ridge and State Roads, pulled into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by Robin Carney, 61, of Ashland.

Carney was taken to The Aroostook Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The teenage driver was not hurt.

Police say both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
