Many flights in and out of Bangor International Airport have been canceled today in anticipation of a major winter storm.

The storm front is making its way through the northeast, dumping large amounts of snow and causing whiteout conditions in some regions. In Maine, the storm will be most severe along the coast, dumping as much as 8 inches to a foot of snow.

But it's not just the snow in Maine causing problems. According to weather.com, New York, Philadelphia, and Boston are under Blizzard Warnings. The intense weather front is grounding flights and stranding passengers.

Anyone planning to fly out of Bangor today, or who is meeting an incoming flight will want to check the Bangor International Airport's website or call (207) 992-4600.
