Manna is asking for the public's help in expanding its garden. The Bangor soup kitchen and food pantry is looking for seed and seedling donations.

Director Bill Rae says fresh vegetables from Manna's garden are used to feed guests of both the soup kitchen and food pantry. He says for many guests, the vegetables they receive from Manna are the only fresh vegetables they get to eat.

A group of students from the University of Maine and the Master Gardeners are volunteering to help Manna with their garden this year.

Rae says folks are also welcomed to grow extra vegetables in their garden at home and drop them off at Manna's building on Main Street.

Any seed or seedling donations should also be dropped off at the Bangor facility.
