Man Who Created A Police Standoff In Brewer Is Sentenced

A Levant man who was the subject of a police standoff in Brewer, is sentenced to time served and will be on probation for two years.

WABI-TV reports that 32-year-old Brandon Ogden pleaded no contest to terrorizing, as well as criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, and creating a police standoff. The charges stem from an incident in February, during which Ogden threatened residents of a State Street apartment with a gun and discussed killing one of them.

He was sentenced to 4 years in jail with all but 9 months suspended, and will be on probation for two years. Because Ogden's been in jail since February, the judge determined that he has served his sentence. He's ordered to have no contact with the victim or go to their residence and will also undergo mental health and substance abuse treatment, while on probation.

Ogden is the father of a 3-year-old girl who was shot in the neck at her family's Capehart apartment in 2013. The loaded gun had been left within her reach at the Bald Mountain Drive residence. She was paralyzed from the neck down but, according to the BDN, recent reports indicate that she's doing better and is moving her arms and legs.
