Man Turns Himself In After Police Find Evidence of Meth Lab

A Buxton man turned himself in after police found evidence of a methamphetamine manufacturing operation in his trash.

Buxton Police officers and agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency's York District Task Force served a search warrant Tuesday at 125 Old Thompson Road in Buxton. Police had tipped off the MDEA about a possible meth lab being operated in the single-family home of 65-year-old Kenneth Hunter. A search of the residence turned up evidence of methamphetamine production in Hunter's discarded trash. The MDEA's Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Team arrived to help safely dismantle three 'one-pot' laboratories at the home.

On Friday, after speaking with MDEA agents, Hunter turned himself into authorities at the Troop A State Police Barracks in Alfred. He was taken to the York County Jail, where bail was set at $2,000. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.
