A South Paris man is hospitalized after he was stabbed by his estranged wife's boyfriend in a Lewiston barbershop.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the stabbing happened Wednesday night at Major Cuts on Chestnut Street. 35-year-old Rashad Robinson of South Paris was getting a haircut when he was stabbed in the chest and stomach. Police say Robinson staggered out of the shop and collapsed on the sidewalk. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center.

23-year-old Michael Barrucci of Otisfield is now charged with elevated aggravated assault. Barucci is dating Robinson's estranged wife, who was also in the barber shop at the time of the stabbing.

Police are interviewing witnesses and continue to investigate the incident.
