A state trooper shot and killed a man in a standoff on Sunday. The standoff lasted nearly 3 hours and ended around 7pm. There's no word on the details that led up to the standoff, other than that police responded to a domestic incident.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says Lewis Conlogue, 49 of Lagrange died after holding police at bay. Conlogue was armed during the confrontation, which took place outside the former 'Island Farm Restaurant,' 5572 Bennoch Road, in Lagrange

The Trooper, Sgt. Scott Hamilton, has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into the shooting by the Attorney General's office. This is standard procedure in any police-involved shooting.
