A Surry man is being hospitalized in Bangor after he was pulled from Sullivan Quarry on Thursday evening, according to a media report.

The Ellsworth American is reporting that bystanders pulled Jeremiah Moon, 26, from the water after he failed to resurface while swimming at around 6 p.m.

Hancock County Deputy Travis Frost told the paper that CPR was in progress when rescue crews arrived.

The incident is under investigation.
