Man Critically Injured In Rockport Fire [UPDATE]

A man was critically injured in a house fire in the town of Rockport early Tuesday morning.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland crews were called to the home on Vinal Street at around 3:30 by a neighbor who found 64-year-old Bruce Fales at the end of the driveway. He was critically injured, and rushed to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport first, and then to another facility that McCausland says was probably Maine Medical Center in Portland. Fales lived alone.

The fire was fully engulfed when crews arrived and the house was completely destroyed. Investigators from the State Fire Marshal's Office will now work to try and determine what sparked the blaze, although the mobile home was flattened, so they may never know the cause.
