Mainers and visitors who attend next month's Maine Moose Festival have a chance to be a part of a World Record attempt.

The Maine Moose Festival is June 8-10 in Skowhegan. The three-day festival features the Moose Permit Lottery Drawing, live music and a World Record attempt. Organizers have filed an application with Guinness World Records to attempt for Most People Moose Calling Simultaneously.

The current record stands at 995 people. The attempt will be made Saturday, June 9, at 1:45, following the Moose Calling Competition.

Later in the day country star Phil Vassar and Bryan White will perform. The "Just Another Day In Paradise" singer takes the stage at 7:10 Saturday night.
