Sometimes we Mainer's sell ourselves short when it comes to recognizing the many show business talents that were born and raised right here in the 'Pine Tree' state. Whether it's in front of the camera or behind the scenes, the list is pretty extensive: actors, writers, producers, technical staff, artists, etc.

A movie website that we're all familiar with, IMDB, has listed all the known show business actors, actresses and behind the scenes men and women that have made a difference in the entertainment world, all hailing Maine as a birthplace.

Some obvious notables are Bangor's, Stephen King; Lewiston's, Patrick Dempsey; Kittery's, John O'Hurley; and the list goes on and on.

One actor that I found interesting was Charles Bradstreet from Silver Ridge, Maine (Southern Aroostook County). Bradstreet passed in 2004 at the age of 86 in Los Angeles, but he notes on IMDB that he acted in an 'Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein,' and was considered for the lead roles in movies like 'Tarzan,' and 'Gunsmoke.' How about them apples?!!

We're talking Mainer's involved with movies and TV shows like 'Shawshank Redemption,' 'Star Trek,' 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Mary Poppins,' 'General Hospital,' 'Diehard with a Vengence,' and so on.
