Nancy Weeks is a hero in the eyes of the Maine Forest Rangers. She spotted an unattended camp fire that was beginning to get out of control. She then reported the fire to the authorities, grabbed the only this she could find that would carry water...a frying pan, and made continued trips from the pond to the flames until the Rangers could arrive and extinguish the fire.

The Rangers say they are still dealing with extremely dangerous conditions for forest fires and remind those burning to be careful, have buckets of water near by, and to never leave a fire unattended no matter how small it may be.
