Maine Turnpike Fire Disrupts Traffic

Traffic on the Maine Turnpike was disrupted early Thursday morning when a northbound tractor-trailer carrying coal ash caught fire near the Cumberland-Falmouth town line.

The driver was identified as Ward Bond, 50, of Corinna.

Troopers think a wheel bearing on the trailer overheated and started the fire. The driver was not charged.
