A State Police Trooper and an Appleton woman were injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-car crash in Appleton.

The crash took place about 3:30 p.m. on the Sennebec Road, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Corporal Jeremy Wesbrock was responding to a motor vehicle crash in Searsmont and was operating his cruiser with emergency lights and siren. The crash occurred when Wesbrock was attempting to pass a car operated by 52-year-old Lisa Ford of Appleton, just as Ford was making a left turn into her driveway. The cruiser sideswiped Ford's car and both vehicles ended up off the road.

Wesbrock and Ford were transported to Pen Bay medical center with minor injuries. Appleton Fire Department personnel and Union EMS assisted at the scene.

The original crash in Searsmont, that Wesbrock was responding to, was covered by other troopers.
