An Auburn magazine publisher was arrested this morning and charged with possessing child pornography. An inspection of his computer showed hundreds of images on the former city councilor's home computer.

Joshua Shea, 38 years old, is the publisher of the Lewiston Auburn magazine. The State Police Computer Crimes Unit acted on a tip and seized his home computer. Analysis by the computer crimes unit turned up hundreds of images of child pornography. He was charged with one count of possessing sexually explicit materials of someone under the age of 12 and was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail. His bail was set at $500, with a condition that he not have any contact with children under the age of 18.

Shea is married and has two children. He served one term as an Auburn city councilor in 2011 and was the organizer of the Lewiston-Auburn film festival. His first court date is set for May 1st.
