Maine Necklaces To Be Handed Out At MTV Awards Party

A local business owner will be in Beverly Hills later this week at a Gifting Party for the MTV Awards, handing out the necklaces she designed.

Jane Arey is the co-owner of the Spectacular Events Center in Bangor, and also creates beautiful fabric and yarn necklaces that she sells at craft shows and through her website. They're beautiful and feminine, and strike a perfect balance between wearing jewelry or draping a scarf.

But, she told WABI-TV that when she received an email from one of the people connected with the Golden Globes, she thought it was a scam. It was quite a surprise to learn that the email was real, and that the woman's PR people had brought JA Designer Collections (Arey's company) to her attention. She asked Arey to create black and gold necklaces that were then handed out as part of a gifting event at the Golden Globes.

Later this week, Arey herself will be headed to the West Coast, to distribute her jewelry personally at a similar event in advance of the MTV Movie Awards. What's next? The Academy Awards? Congrats to Jane Arey for catching the attention of the stars!
