If you've wondered what kind of relief effort is underway to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy, rest assured that a special team from Maine is already on the scene in New York City.

Q-106.5's, News Director, Craig Colson, reports that an "Incident Management Team" from the Maine Forest Service had just completed training for such disasters. Lt. Jeff Currier of the Maine Forest Service said the team recently held training drills not knowing how soon the skills would be needed. Currier states that it's an honor to help out, and knows that there may come a day when Maine needs similar help from other states.

Colson reports that you can keep track of their progress over the next couple of weeks and see photos on the Maine Forest Service Facebook page: Maine Forest Service Facebook
