A Maine engineer was in control of a freight train when it struck a vehicle on the tracks, killing a woman.

WGME reports the accident happened at around 2:30 in the morning in Madbury, New Hampshire. A freight train struck a vehicle that was parked on the railroad tracks, hitting it squarely on the driver's side. A woman who was in the vehicle, 64-year-old Jacqueline Robbins of Dover, New Hampshire, was pronounced dead upon her arrival at the hospital.

The train's engineer was 34-year-old Peter Glidden of Carmel, Maine. State Police are investigating the crash.
