Maine DEA: Suspect Nabbed With 96 Bags Of Heroin
A New York man was caught with 96 bags of heroin when he was arrested in Auburn on Tuesday, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Maine Department of Public Safety.
19-year-old Corey McCloud of Rochester, NY was charged with trafficking in heroin and crack cocaine.
The arrest follows a Maine DEA investigation into the sale of crack cocaine and heroin in the Lewiston-Auburn area.
According to the press release, officers stopped a vehicle, which was connected to the investigation, on South Main Street in Auburn Tuesday night.
Police say the driver of the vehicle, 53-year-old Paul Davis of Lewiston, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
McCloud, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was allegedly caught with 96 bags of heroin and 3 grams of crack cocaine.
Police say the investigation is continuing and additional arrests are likely.
