Texas crooner Lyle Lovett will play an acoustic show on Jan. 16 at the Collins Center for the Arts in Orono, where he will be joined by influential singer-songwriter John Hiatt.

Lovett's country and western roots are deep, but the Grammy winning singer-songwriter also infuses his ecelctic brand of music with folk, swing, gospel and blues. Born and raised near Houston, Lovett in the video above, explains his affinity for his home state in "That's Right (You're Not from Texas.)"

Lovett has won four Grammy Awards including Best Country Album in 1996 for The Road to Ensenada. And, how can we mention Lovett without noting that he briefly was married to actress Julia Roberts?
