Saturday the Cross Center in Bangor will bustling with beer lovers and Mallett Brothers Band fans!

Luke Mallett of the Mallett Brothers Band called into Q106.5 in anticipation of the band's performance at Bangor On Tap Saturday, March 3. The Maine based group has been touring all over the country over the past few months, and still had time to work on new music.

Their latest single "Long Black Braid" is a great sampling what's to come on the next album. Another tune “Vive L’Acadie” was just recently released on Youtube as well. Both songs will be on the album which Mallett says will be released in June.

After their show in Bangor, MBB will hit the road with Phish drummer Jon Fishman. MBB was playing a pre-show for Phish in New York City. The group was invited to attend the jam band's show at Madison Square Garden, which was how the two groups met. Later, Fishman joined MBB for a gig at the Union Fair which would furthered the band's friendship with the drummer.

Fishman and his wife opened a general store in Lincolnville. The band played at the store's grand opening. After the gig Fishman and the MBB decided to join forces and hit the road with them as a second drummer. Mallett says the addition of Fishman adds a unique jam band sound to their live show.
