Luke Bryan is bigger than ever, with four ACM Awards nominations and a super successful Dirt Road Diaries Tour, but even the biggest stars have a case of nerves. In fact, when he was asked to step into the iconic Reba McEntire's shoes of co-hosting the ACMs, he almost turned down the offer.

“I said, ‘I just don’t know if I’m ready for something like that.’ I felt like it was a little early in my career,” Luke says, according to GAC. “I think I had said, ‘I kinda want to enjoy being at the show for a few years,’ because it’s still new to me being at the show and performing, and so I just wasn’t ready to leapfrog."

However, they hadn't told him one important detail, and that detail included his fellow musician Blake Shelton. Bryan explains, "About a month later they got back with me, and they said, ‘You may have misunderstood us, but it’s gonna be you and Blake together.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m in.’ That’s a no-brainer.”

Sometimes, you just need the confidence of a good friend by your side -- one you know will always set you up for success, as the 'Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye' hitmaker knows his partner-in-crime will do. “I know Blake will have my back up there if I get to scrambling too bad,” he says. And, we know he'll do the same if Shelton chokes up.

Be sure to catch his rookie debut of co-hosting the 2013 ACMs this Sunday (April 7) at 8PM ET on CBS. Everyone will surely be glad Bryan said 'yes' to co-hosting the ACMs, and with those two on stage, it's sure to be full of jokes and lots of ribbing on both sides.
