That loon plate is your free pass on Sunday. July 15, all vehicles with a current Maine loon license plate will receive free admission to Maine's State Parks and Historic Sites. From 9 AM to closing all of Maine's State Parks and Historic sites will be free for you to enjoy, however there are a few exceptions.

Loon Plate Appreciation Day Does Not Apply At:

  • Baxter State Park
  • Maine Wildlife Park

When you purchase a loon plate most of the money is distributed to fund the Bureau of Parks and Lands and Inland Fisheries & Wildlife.
