Lookout Taylor and Carrie, The Next 10 are Right Behind You

The music business is a brutal world to try to make a living in. Nashville is full of broken hearts and dreams, and sometimes I bet you could float down the streets with all the tears that are shed. But for those that make it to the top, their lives are changed forever.

For women, it's always been a bit tougher to get ahead. No doubt the "good-'ol-boys" club is still in existence. Some even say it's even tougher to stay on top once you get there. And for mega-stars like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, I'm sure they  occasionally glance over their shoulder to see who is sneaking up to take your their place.

Granted there are some female 'up and comers' that we've already heard about: Jana Kramer, Lauren Alaina, and Kacey Musgraves. But there are a few more that are battling their way up the music ladder.
