Lola and the Cookie – A Study in Restraint [VIDEO]

Lola, the Golden Retriever, shows amazing restraint when faced with a giant peanut butter cookie, sitting on a coffee table, right at her level.

Dogs are basically kids, in my opinion. Their behavior, good or bad, is taught. And our girl Lola is very smart. She knows that she's not supposed to take things off the coffee table, no matter how badly she wants them. Now, I'm not going to lie. It doesn't always work. I mean, if that were a piece of steak, it just might be gone. Like with a kid, sometimes a few minutes of being yelled at is worth the payoff!

But, in this case last night, she was very restrained. Jim had made some huge peanut butter cookies and set them on the coffee table. When we got down to just one, Lola started to worry that she wasn't going to get any. Her concentration was so funny that I had to grab my camera. Unfortunately, I didn't do it quick enough to catch her with her head laying on the table, with her nose pointed at the cookie. She's such a sweet girl and definitely a character!
