Lewiston Police Search For Fatal Hit and Run Driver

Lewiston Police are searching for a vehicle involved in a hit and run that left one man dead on Sunday.

WCSH-TV reports a man was found lying in the travel lane of Pleasant Street at around 2:30 Sunday morning. He was transported to Central Maine Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries.

A witness told police they saw a white SUV hit the man, and then leave the scene of the accident. Police have not yet released the victim's name, pending notification of next of kin.
