A family of three was displaced by a three alarm fire that destroyed their Levant home Monday night.

WABI is reporting that the home on Quinn Road belonged to Levant’s assistant fire chief.

The home was fully engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived on the scene at about 6:30 p.m.

“It’s not a good feeling in your stomach when you know it’s one of your own that you’re going to protect," said Levant Fire Chief Eric Strout.

Fire fighters say the family was outside cooking when the fire broke out. No one was hurt.

The Red Cross is assisting the family that was displaced by the blaze.
