I was cruising through Facebookland today, and cam across this cool oldy-timey video of men that are invariably ten times tougher than I am, harvesting ice out of the Penobscot River. What I like about watching the video now, is that for a split second, I actually felt one-tenth cooler. So from that perspective, it's definitely worth the :53 seconds.

Considering how hot it's been, I'll take every chilly thought I can get. And, you get to sort of appreciate the fact that we have easy access to refrigeration these days, and don't have to resort to pulling huge chunks of ice out of the river to keep our food from spoiling. And, what did they do in the summer? These are the questions that keep me awake at night....

So, enjoy this frigid video, and try and stay cool out there!
