A 19-year-old man from Lamoine was arrested after a brief standoff involving the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office late Tuesday morning.

Deputies responded to a report of a man firing a gun during a domestic dispute just before 11:40 a.m.

Jonathan Develder, 19, was placed in handcuffs just after 1 p.m.

“We attempted to call his cell phone, didn’t get any response,” Lt. Chris Thornton told the Ellsworth American. “Called on the PA system on my cruiser and Develder made himself available and was very compliant and taken into custody without incident.”

Develder was charged with domestic violence terrorizing and domestic violence reckless conduct.

Police said they confiscated the gun that was fired along with another gun.

No injuries were reported.
