Comedian Krazy Jake will perform next month in Dexter as part of a benefit to help a dairy farmer who lost almost everything to fire over the winter.

The Trafton family has had a tragic few weeks. The first weekend in March, fire took the family's house, garage, barn, and approximately 37 cows. The farmer was not insured but is determined to rebuild.

The last actively operating dairy farm in Dexter, the Trafton farm also employs farmhands who are in danger of losing their livelihood, as well as Kenny Trafton. Now, the community is stepping up to help. A retired farmer is graciously hosting the remaining cows on his property until a barn and milking parlor can be rebuilt on Trafton's property. But warm weather is coming and, where they're housed now, they won't be able to go out to pasture. So the need is great to get that barn and milking parlor built as soon as possible.

A gofundme page has done very well, but more funds are needed. So a 'Bring the Cows Home' fundraising evening is planned for May 6th at Dexter Regional High School. Maine comedian Krazy Jake will bring his hilarious show to the stage, including the classic 'snowblower dance' shown in the video above! In addition, there will be both a silent auction and a live auction!

Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at Bud's Shop 'n Save and Noah's Landing Restaurant in Dexter, or you can buy them online. For more information, contact Janice at 570-6972.
