The Kenduskeag Haunted House is being held this weekend at the Cole Memorial Ball Field for the very brave. Remember, this haunted house is not for kids!

Each year, these amazing folks gather in Kenduskeag to put on one of the area's scariest haunted houses. It's interactive, meaning that you might find yourself getting grabbed by a ghoul, fondled by Frankenstein, or wet by a werewolf. All those rules that many family-friendly haunted houses have about 'hands-off' simply don't apply in Kenduskeag.

I've never been through the operating Haunted House, but I did get a walk-through a couple of years ago as it was being put together, and I can assure you that it's going to be scary! There was a chain saw, things that jumped out at you, and some dead things hanging from the rafters. No, not plastic dead things. Actual dead things! See, one of the women that organizes the event is related to a butcher, so they had actual cow and pig parts. Yikes!

So the recommendation is that you should be older than 11 to go through the Haunted House. And it's an excellent idea to leave the nice clothes at home and wear something you don't mind getting wet or dirty. The Haunted House is being held Friday and Saturday between 7 p.m. and midnight, rain or dark, at the Galen Cole Memorial Ball Field, 499 Kenduskeag Levant Road. It's only $5 to get in. Pack up your courage and stop by for a scary good time!
