Some employees of Jackson Lab are working out on Friday, to raise money for Alzheimers disease research. The "Longest Day Workout" will take place from sun-up to sundown on the longest day of the year and is organized nationally by the Alzheimer’s Association.

Assistant Professor Dr. Gareth Howell says it will be a challenging day, but the scenery will be spectacular.

"If you're going to do it, what a wonderful place to do it, in Acadia National Park. We're starting at the top of Cadillac Mountain, which sees the sunrise first, so we're the team that will be kicking the whole day off. But, you know, the first step is to hike down Cadillac Mountain, and then we'll be back at Jackson Lab for breakfast. And then we'll be hiking to Sand Beach. Maybe a swim, if the water's warm enough."

The Jackson 8, as the team is known, is raising money through a website, and although they've reached their goal, they’re hoping to raise as much money as they can. Howell says donating can be done online at the team's website and would be much appreciated!
