It’s Dog Day So Celebrate Your Canine Friends Today [VIDEO]

Today is National Dog Day, a day set aside to appreciate the dogs in your life. As you probably know, I'm a dog lover, so I had to share a video I made a couple years ago with my pup, Copernicus. Billy Currington's, 'Like My Dog!'

I have Jim to blame for my obsession with dogs. Actually, it was Jim's dog Floyd who did it. I absolutely fell in love with Floyd, right from the beginning! Then there was Lola, his brother's dog who lived with him then. And his Mom's two labs, Hannah and Cyndal! It's impossible to be a part of his family and not love dogs.

But the obsession was complete when I met Copernicus. He just melted our hearts when we met him, with his huge brown eyes and his unusual markings. He's lost a lot of the dark brown now but, when we met him, he looked like his ears, tail, and the tip of his nose had been dipped in dark chocolate.

From the moment he walked into our house, he was at home. We expected some apprehension but, other than a bout of car sickness on the drive to Orrington, he walked around like he owned the place! He definitely owns our hearts.

So if you are also a dog lover, give your pups an extra hug today, an extra couple of treats, and maybe take them for a walk. They bring such happiness and joy with their unconditional love. And absolutely make our lives complete!
