Intruder Shot During Richmond Home Invasion

A man who police say broke into a family's apartment was shot by one of the tenants early this morning.

WABI-TV reports the incident happened at around six o'clock this morning on the Post Road in Richmond. Police say a man broke into an apartment that's located over a garage and was then chased out by the residents.

The man returned and was allegedly shot by one of the tenants. Police say the intruder, 42-year-old Shad Hembree, lives in the neighborhood although the victims told investigators that they don't know him. Hembree suffered a wound to the shoulder.
