A man who was injured when he crashed his motorcycle spent the night in the woods before being discovered by passers-by.

WABI-TV reports 52-year-old David Gorey was driving his motorcycle on Pease Hill Road in Anson on Tuesday night when he missed a curve. His bike crossed Dinsmore Road before finally stopping in the woods.

Gorey lay in the woods until around 7:00 Wednesday morning when a couple, out for a morning walk, heard him crying for help. They called 911 and Gorey was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate the accident.
