The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is looking for a teacher they say has been missing since Sunday.

Warden Corporal John MacDonald says 47-year-old Kristin Westra was last seen heading to bed on Sunday evening. She lives on the Lufkin Road in North Yarmouth, on a wooded piece of property. Family members say she left behind her cellphone and vehicle and they have no idea why she would be missing. Westra is described as 5'10" tall, 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Game Wardens and Search and Rescue crews covered an area nearly one-and-a-half miles surrounding her home this week. In addition, police K9's and drones were used to cover the area, including some wetlands, thick forests, and open fields. So far, there's no sign of Westra and officials say the only indication that she would be near her home is the fact that she left so many personal belongings behind.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the Cumberland County Regional Communications Center at (207) 893-2810, option 2.
