The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is seeking nominations of sportsmen and women to receive the Lifetime Outdoor Achievement award.

The department is seeking weekend outdoor enthusiasts, not professionals like Maine game wardens.

The winner must have a combined total of 40 years hunting, fishing and trapping experience in Maine.

IFW also seeks someone who has shared their outdoor experience with others as a teacher, instructor or mentor.

Anyone who submits a nomination form is required to write a few paragraphs about the nominee, explaining why they deserve the award.

Nominations must be turned in by Monday, August 10 at 5 p.m.

The award will be given out at the Sportsmen’s Alliance of Maine banquet in September.
