The public is invited to join Husson University students and staff as they walk this weekend in support of a heating oil fund.

I love when communities come together in support of people in need, and that's exactly what the Husson University community is doing this Sunday, in conjunction with the United Way of Eastern Maine. The Student Government is hosting the Husson University Walk for Warmth, a 5K fun run/walk that hopes to raise some much-needed funds. Their goal is $1,500 and they need your help to reach it!

Folks will be walking in the chilly November air Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m. in support of providing heating oil to folks in need this winter. A walk in the brisk air is totally worth it when you think about how much warmth that tank of oil will bring to a family when the temperatures are dropping into the single numbers.

Anyone interested in taking part can register online or wait and sign up on the day of the event. The first 75 people to register will receive a free t-shirt. Registration is $10 with a Husson ID, and $15 for everyone else. And, if you can't make it to the walk, you can still donate online as a virtual participant.
