As anyone who's ever had a big dog can tell you, there are challenges each and every day. They can knock company off their feet in their enthusiasm. And, if the dog doesn't want you to get up, you're NOT getting up!

Now, you may be wondering what I know about this. I mean, anyone who's met my dog Copernicus knows that he's more of a medium-sized dog. But we used to have a Huskador, which is a Husky/Labrador Retriever mix.

Floyd was 100 pounds when he died at the age of 16 and living with him was a much different experience! Floyd would walk by the coffee table and things would go flying! If Floyd wanted to crawl onto your lap, you couldn't stop him. He didn't do it often, but when he did, he was insistent. Once, when Jim and I were headed in to watch television, Floyd actually bumped him out of the way so he could lay next to me!

And I've had a similar experience with Floyd that this St. Bernard owner had. If the dogs want to lay with you and snuggle, you may as well resign yourself to it...because you're not getting up until the DOG is ready!
