Although there's a new shoe repair business in downtown Bangor, there was a time when many in the area visited the Yankee Shoe Repair. At times it was more affordable to resole your favorite footwear than it was to go out and buy new. I was always fascinated on how they would take my old footwear and make them new again--sometimes better than new.

The cobbling profession goes back hundreds of years. But today, there are some pretty time-saving tools that can take your favorite shoes and make them new again.
