Horse Killed in Accident

State police are investigating an accident in which a horse hauling a buggy with four Amish children was struck and killed.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon in an Amish Community in Island Falls. According to the police report the children were hauling wood in the buggy and neglected to stop as they came out of the woods into the roadway.

62 year old Stephen Porter from Sherman was unable to stop in time and struck the horse which ejected the children from the buggy.

The children were not seriously hurt but the horse was killed.
