#Hometown of the Week: Searsport [PHOTOS]
Every week we feature a new hometown and share photos and facts using hashtags on social media. This week our #hashtag hometown is Searsport!
The second deepest seaport in Maine, antique capital of Maine and the home of many famous sea captains. Searsport is a very significant town in Maine! The town has more to offer than most know. History, coastal life, great food, shopping, and art are just some of the things you can find plenty of in Searsport.
Today about 2,600 people call Searsport home and even more flock here every summer. The town is full of beautiful old ship captain homes, some dating back to the early 1800's, that have now been converted into Bed and Breakfasts like the Nickels Inn or neighboring Homeport Inn.
Fans of all things rusty and previously loved things you are sure to find something your heart desires here. From shops like Silkweeds with new products that look rustic to flea markets like Hobby Horse Flea Market. We can't forget the cache of a little bit of everything at Treasures and Trash Barn seen in the photos below!
